The famous English Spa
Back in 1571 the quaint North Yorkshire town of Harrogate was christened with the name ‘The English Spa’ after Queen Elizabeth's physician discovered mineral springs in the area. The water from these springs were found to contain a range of beneficial minerals including sulphur, iron and salt, making them ideal for natural skincare and spa treatments. Since the discovery, wealthy visitors from all over the world came to the town for the exclusive spa treatments and to discover the wide benefits of Harrogates mineral springs.
Sulphur and skincare
Present in nearly every cell in the body, sulphur is an essential mineral that is especially useful for the hair, skin and nails. Sulphur can have many benefits for the body, with one of its main functions being to assist collagen production. Collagen is a protein that helps with the maintenance of cells, which is what makes it particularly useful for helping to keep the skin strong and healthy. This has made sulphur a popular ingredient in skincare products and high-end treatments, and is why is has been given the name of ‘nature's beauty mineral’.
